Mr. Marc Belzberg - Chairman
After receiving his MBA from New York University in 1979, Mr. Belzberg gained extensive business experience in finance while working on Wall Street for Salomon Brother's Mergers and Acquisitions Department, Risk Arbitrage Department and then as Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Oppenheimer & Co.
Mr. Belzberg opened the office of the Belzberg family interests in New York in 1983, becoming the first President of First City Capital Corporation.
While at First City Capital, Mr. Belzberg managed the risk arbitrage department, the Japanese bond arbitrage department, the foreign currency hedging and trading units and the largest division which was the undervalued stock investment group, where the company took significant positions in companies, some of which were ultimately purchased in whole by the group
In 1984, Mr. Belzberg won the first national license to provide cellular telephone service in Canada before any US licenses had been granted. The Belzberg family of Canada owned 40% of the consortium together with Rogers Cable Systems of Canada and Telemedia of Quebec. After the license was granted, Ameritech invested $20mm in the company in exchange for a 20% interest. Details of this story are detailed in a book entitled “High Wire Act”.
Mr. Belzberg moved to Israel in 1992 and became very active in the local business, political and philanthropic communities.
At present, Mr. Belzberg is the Chairman of Wave Group, a military technology company, as well as the Chairman of VideoCells, an Internet security Company.
Mr. Belzberg is a partner in the Venture Capital firm of Meditech Advisors, which raised and manages a fund for investments in Medical Devices only.
Mr. Belzberg is also deeply committed to philanthropy in Israel and abroad. Among the projects Mr. Belzberg founded, built and guided the OneFamily Fund, which has provided over $20M of assistance to all of Israel’s terror victims and their families over the last 10 years.
Mr. Belzberg also serves as the Chairman of the Board of World Bnei Akiva, the largest Jewish youth movement in the world, with 50,000 young members in 35 countries. He is also the founder and Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Jewish Renaissance, an organization dedicated to raising Jewish identity in Israel and all Jewish communities around the world. Today, over 250,000 children in over 19 countries participate on a weekly basis in the programs of the Foundation for Jewish Renaissance.
Mr. Belzberg sits on the Board of Directors of the Simon Wiesenthal Museum of Tolerance with branches in Los Angeles, New York, France and Jerusalem. He also sits on the board of Heichal Shlomo an judaica anitquties museum in the centre of Jerusalem.
Mr. Malcolm I. Hoenlein
Malcolm Hoenlein is the Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents
of Major American Jewish Organizations, the coordinating body on international
Jewish concerns for 52 national Jewish organizations, since the year 1986.
Previously, he served as the founding Executive Director of the Jewish
Community Relations Council of Greater New York, the central coordinating
agency for Jewish organizations in the metropolitan New York area. Prior
to that, he was the founding Executive Director of the Greater New York
Conference on Soviet Jewry. Malcolm Hoenlein received his B.A. in Political
Science from Temple University and his Masters degree from the University
of Pennsylvania's Department of International Relations, where he completed
his doctoral course work. A National Defense Fellow in the University's
Near East Center, Mr. Hoenlein taught International Relations in the Political
Science Department and served as a Middle East specialist at the Foreign
Policy Research Institute. In addition, he served on the editorial staff
of ORBIS, the Journal of International Affairs. Mr. Hoenlein has been
the recipient of many awards and tributes. Among recent honors, he was
conferred a Doctorate of Humane Letters Honoria Causa by Yeshiva University
in 2002, and was honored by, among others, State of Israel Bonds for his
"valiant and extraordinary service to Israel and the Jewish people," the
Private Sector Initiative Award from President Ronald Reagan, American
ORT honored him with a special "Man of the Millennium" Tribute, the first
Quittman Award for Jewish Professional Excellence, the Defender of Jerusalem
Award, Millender Fellow at Brandeis University, Fellow of the Jerusalem
College of Technology, the Jack D. Weiler Award for Jewish Communal Service,
and the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations National Service Award.
Mr. Hoenlein played a key role in organizing the massive National Solidarity
Rally for Israel in Washington, DC on April 15, 2002. The Forward listed
him as the most influential Jewish leader. Mr. Hoenlein is associated
with and serves on the boards of many communal, educational and civic
organizations including the Council on Foreign Relations, and America-Israel
Chamber of Commerce. He is Chairman of America's Voices in Israel, Co-Chair
of SCAN, and Co-Chair of Sharing for Life. He serves on the Board of Directors
or Advisory Board of several companies, including Bank Leumi USA, Keryx
Biopharmaceuticals, Inc.
Mr. Eitan Metuki
Mr. Eitan Metuki is the CEO of Spark Enterprise L.P, a venture capital
running 22 M$ pre-seed and seed funds, including investor drafts & entrepreneur
screening over 1600 projects and companies. Spark invested in 19 companies
in a variety of fields-intelligence, security, optics, bio-technology
and others. Prior to Spark Enterprise, Mr. Metuki was the CFO of C. Mer
Industries Ltd, traded in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, holding more then
20 communication and infrastructure companies. C. Mer deals with various
aspects of product management, infrastructure and communication companies;
among them is a company which traded in NASDAQ, with turnover of over
$100M. The group employs over 1200 employees in Israel and around the
world. While serving as C. Mer's CFO Mr. Metuki was responsible for managing
the finance, operations and human resources as well as served as the company's
internal controller and a director of most of its subsidiaries. Along
the years, his job included raising funds from various sources, including
bonds and I.P.O's in Israel and U.S.A. Mr. Metuki holds a M. Sc. in Economics
& Work Studies from Tel Aviv University and brings with him 30 years of
management and operations experience of some of the leading technology
groups in Israel.
Mr. Shimon Eckhaus
In August 2010 Mr. Shimon Eckhaus was nominated as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Starling-Advanced Communication. Starling provides SOTM (Satellite On the Move Communication) and is traded in TLV Stock Exchange.
In July 2009 Mr. Shimon Eckhaus have Established W.I.N. (Worldwide Integrated Network Ltd.)
Mr. Shimon Eckhaus serves a director in IEC (Israeli Electricity Company).
